Here is a short video I did awhile back. I am posting it so that you can put a voice and face with the name!
Safe Kidz Educational Services has been going through some major changes of the last year. We have moved from several hosting companies because they couldn’t really do everything that I hoped to do. Finally it looks like it is really going to happen!! It has been a rough road I’m here to tell you!!
Safe Kidz is the product of many years of frustration as a Mental Health counselor and Martial Arts instructor that so many of our young people were living in a world that has become dominated by an on going low grade sense of apprehension about “life” that really holds them back from being able to healthy and happy lives.
The goal is to give parents and other care givers real world ways to show their loved ones how to be fit, safe and resilient. There has always been a huge gap between what resources were available to parents who wanted to show their children how to be safe, and the material that was being covered in Martial Arts and Personal Safety classes and weekend training sessions. The material being covered in most martial arts classes or personal safety lessons was
- Expensive
- Presented transportation and scheduling issues
- Are extremely time intensive
- Pretty generic overall
- Really gives parents little if any input as to what is being taught to their children or how it was being taught
The majoriety of the resources available to parents in terms of books and DVDs were pretty lame at best!
After many years of showing children and adults how to protect themselves utilizing the martial arts, it became glaringly apparent that
- That when children learned some basic skills, their self confidence drastically increased as their belief in their abilities grew
- When parents participated, young people stuck with their training
I also realized that there were a large number of parents that wanted to show their children how to be fit and safe, that for what ever reason, found that martial arts lessons just weren’t working for them. My concern became what else was available to them?
Safe Kidz was put together to give you the tools to really have a meaningful impact on what your child or loved one does to increase their safety and fitness.
On our website www.safekidz.us we have assembled programs and resources that you can use right away to address the issues that are important to you and your family. We will also be adding additional programs, products and services as they become available.
